Panel Discussion
My first piece is my Panel Discussion written piece. We did this is Humanities class during our time spent on lit circles. My role in my group was the feminist literary critic, which means I spent my time focusing on the role of women in my book, Woman at Point Zero. I feel passionate about defying gender stereotypes and roles and it is something I enjoy learning about. I’m proud of this because it’s my true tone of writing. Sometimes if I try writing it comes out sounding awkward or just wrong, but this time the words just flowed out of me and it ended up being great.
Wonderproject
My second piece is my wonderproject from writing class. We had to initially come up with a list of topics that we knew a lot about or enjoyed. I ended up choosing gender stereotypes/roles, yet again. I like gender studies and am fascinated by their origin(s). The process was easy--we had to complete multiple drafts of our idea. We also had to read a bunch of articles and use various resources. I ended up reading about seven articles. Like, long articles. I’m really proud of this because when I finished I felt like I had finally gotten all of my thoughts out. It wasn’t as organized as it could have been, but I said what I wanted to.

LOTF essay
My last piece for this year is my Lord of the Flies essay. I wrote it in Humanities and got a fair grade on it. I'm not so proud of it because of the grade, but more due to my writing. I was able to write a comparative essay without feeling flustered or like I was just spitting random things out. Generally with essays I have to write I corner myself into thinking I have to write a certain way. I am usually never able to just let my words/thoughts flow but in this piece I was able to look back and be content with what I had written.

End-of-year reflection
This was a very stressful year. Not necessarily bad, but it made me push my limits as a student. In total this year I probably got about 100 hours of sleep, but my grades were pretty good. I am happy with who I am becoming as a person the further I progress in high school, and hope that I continue to grow. My fondest memory of this year is definitely the wonder project unit in writing. For a whole month I feel I was able to just completely write about a topic I was interested in without having too many restrictions or guidelines. This year has been long, but it has been a good one.
